ABOUT ME

Aviation
Background
Hello! My name is George Prince and I am the admin of this particular website. I am an avid pilot in training, nearly obtaining my private license. I am fascinated with the history of airplanes and how they came to rule the skies during WW2. It has always been my passion to take to the skies as those early pioneers did. I am sure I am not alone in this. That is why I have created this website, to bring all such aviation communities together and, at the same time, educate those who desire to learn more about the airplanes and helicopters in those fateful days of WW2.
Though I am also an avid professional photographer, I give full credit to the photographers at this website: www.warbirddepot.com.
It is because of these marvelous shots that I was able to feature their awesome handiwork on this website. Enjoy and share!

When my three brothers and sister and I all joined the Army in 2008 I chose helicopter maintenance and repair as my specialty, or, as the Army puts it, my MOS. Since my boyhood I have been interested in aviation of all types and had studied as much as I could about all aspects of flight, history, engineering, design, and piloting.
My siblings and I were home schooled on a large property in south central Texas that included the family business of automotive, agriculture and construction research. In addition to a regular school curriculum, we were all exceptionally well trained in automotive engineering, mechanics, physics and electronics, fields that I thoroughly enjoyed from an early age and in which I grew proficient. Now the Army was offering me the ability to put those skills to use in serving my country and put practical application to my study of aviation and expand my aptitude and the capabilities learned at home into the field of aeronautics.
Of course my interest in aviation has been fueled by the desire to become a pilot myself. As I have had time during and after deployment, I have taken and passed the Pilot Ground Training Course and am working on the necessary flight hours to secure my private pilot’s license. I have found becoming a member of AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots’ Association) has been very helpful in gaining information and, as you see on this site, I have immersed myself in gathering a wealth of information and sharing it with others of like interest. It is my hope that students of every aspect of aviation will find what they need here or that it will provide a jumping off place to further study. I strongly feel that this site represents my own great admiration and respect for an industry that is truly a miracle when you think about it, and my love and regard for the many wonderful planes and choppers that have been such a benefit to mankind when used rightly in commerce or in battle.
I was raised in a family that knows man can do nothing without God. I was nurtured and encouraged to look to Him to open my mind to learn, to understand what I was learning and how to do the things I do. He has given man “wings” and when I do have that pilot’s license I will be His co-pilot, not the other way around!
