Indianapolis, Indiana (PRWEB) July 05, 2013

The recent take off of solar farms in Indianapolis (most notably the IND Solar Farm at the Indianapolis International Airport) has introduced unique opportunities to local businesses. Several Indianapolis metropolitan based organizations such as Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA), the City of Indianapolis, GES, Telamon Corporation, Johnson Melloh Solutions, Cenergy Power and Indianapolis Power & Light Company have partnered in bringing the IND Solar Farm to fruition.

Since the start of the IND Solar Farm project, Carmel, IN-based Telamon has continued to play an integral role in the success of the solar farm. Telamons participation in this project has allowed Telamon to become a leading solar pioneer in the Midwest and cultivate positive relationships with two of Indianas leading companies, IPL and IAA.

Since 1984, Telamons goal has been to simplify business by increasing efficiency and streamlining operations for its customers. Telamon’s role as project manager/developer of the largest airport-based solar farm in the U.S. speaks volumes. As Telamon attempts to garner additional business to implement solar farms at other airports throughout the U.S., the IND Solar Farm is the perfect case study to showcase Telamons expertise and experience. Just in the solar arena, Telamons services include: Pre-Development & Engineering, Deal Structuring & Analysis, Project Development & Management, Power Purchase Agreements, and Strategic Project Financing. Telamons other business units specialize in solutions for telecommunication networks, business process outsourcing, energy efficiency, industrial assembly, and telehealth services.

Telamon has been happy to play a role in helping the Indianapolis Airport Authority reach its goals of increasing non-airline generated revenue and becoming a more green entity, said Albert Chen, Telamon President & CEO. Participating through the planning, design, construction, project oversight and financing stages of the IND Solar Farm as a venture partner has been a learning process for Telamon and we look forward to further expanding our business in the solar industry.

Telamon has only recently entered the solar arena with the Indiana Housing Authority being its first endeavor and now the IND Solar Farm. Although this was a large undertaking, the local business does not plan to stop there. Plans are in place to take the IND Solar Farm experience to national conferences, specifically emphasizing the benefits of airports going green. This initiative reaches farther than the limits of airports. Education, automotive and telecommunications are additional industries in which Telamon is developing future solar solutions.

Telamons involvement in the IND Solar Farm has put us and all project partners on the map as forward-thinking leaders in the energy arena, said Eric Tate, Executive Vice President of Telamons Energy Solutions division. The IND Solar Farm is the perfect case study to showcase Telamons expertise and experience in bringing solar projects to fruition.

The $ 35-$ 40 million dollar alternative energy project is a significant public-private partnership that includes the Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA), the City of Indianapolis, and privately held businesses GES, Telamon Corporation, Johnson Melloh Solutions, Cenergy Power and Indianapolis Power & Light Company. All entities involved are committed to finding creative solutions to increase sustainability in Indianapolis while helping diversify generation sources of electric power for Indianapolis business and residential customers.
